Dr. Moyer has been in practice in the Toledo area for 28 years during which time he has held a number of simultaneous positions. Dr. Moyer was the Chief Consulting Psychologist at Sunshine Children’s Home for the developmentally disabled for ten years. In addition, he was the Director of Outpatient Services at Flower Hospital’s Chemical Dependence Center from 1981-1987. Dr. Moyer also served as Clinical Director of Cummings-Zucker Community Mental Health Center which served children, adolescents and families, from 1990-1997. Dr. Moyer was the Clinical Director of Premier Associates, Ltd., providing geropsychological services at six long-term care facilities from 1990-2003. He was a faculty member and Clinical Director in the Department of Psychiatry’s Kobacker Center from 1997-2003 where he supervised Psychiatry Medical Residents, was on the Residency Training Committee, and directed a staff of 30 mental health professionals in the Medical College’s Partial Hospitalization Program. He has taught Graduate School Courses at The University of Toledo and Siena Heights College. In addition to his private practice at Person to Person Resources, Dr. Moyer is with Senior Life Consultants, Dublin, Ohio practicing geropsychology at four local Long-Term Care Facilities.

Dr. Moyer has presented numerous talks and seminars in areas of chemical dependence, geriatric problems, child, adolescent, adult, and family problems, and sexual abuse. He has treated sexual abuse victims, sexual perpetrators and sexual addiction. Dr Moyer treats children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. He engages in individual and group therapy as well. Dr. Moyer is available for treatment, psychological/chemical dependence assessment, and consultation services. Dr. Moyer also accepts Children of Alcoholics and Adult Children of Alcoholics.

Dr. Moyer graduated with his Ph.D. in 1981. He completed his Pre-Doctoral Internship at The University of Toledo’s Health Services where he was awarded “Intern of the Year” and “The Board of Trustees Scholarship Award.” He completed his Post-Doctoral Residency at Flower Hospital, Sylvania, Ohio. Dr. Moyer’s dissertation was entitled “The Effects of Empathy Training on Levels of Self-Actualization in Senior Citizens.” He maintains numerous professional and Honor Society affiliations and is on staff at The Toledo Hospital. He will, whenever indicated, work and consult with patients’ physicians. Dr. Moyer has been an independent contractor with Person to Person Resources for six years and is currently accepting new patients.
